Within days after the end of this interesting and “strong” race for Romania, our media sought contact with the other big club in the race – Mojo yachting club, which has 5 racing yachts – Irony, Nemo, Mojo, Freya, Harmony . They sail at the country and abroad ….
Our initial idea was to talk to the representatives of several of the yachts, but due to their commitments, we were unable to make contact. We present of your attention Catalin Corduneanu, skipper of the yacht Irony:
“This season of the National Championship of Romania has been very tight, especially in class B where all the results of the races were decided in a few seconds.
We managed to bring on Irony the same crew as in the ORC Worlds and that was a great advantage for us, the experience of this competition allowed us to grow as sailors and to sail better as a team. We finished 2nd in class B, but I think the first 4 teams (at least) could have changed places at any time moment. A big round of applause for our competitors, a big thanks to Mojo Yachting Club (as I said at the prize-giving ceremony, it was a club effort), many thanks to our sponsors Water Systems and Digital Atelier for supporting us and a special thanks to our coach Mitja Beltram – you are the best! For us the season is not over yet, we have 2 more competitions ahead – Limanu Channel Cup and NauticLine Match Race… looking for even better results there …… ”
