SSL Gold cup 2021 can be briefly explained as a World Cup but in sailing. The idea of the event is to introduce the best sailing athletes of each country, assembled in 1 crew on fast single-hull yachts, to establish the “best sailing country in the world”. Boats are provided by the organizer to ensure that sailing opportunities are those that are relevant in the race. The SSL Gold Cup format will include four qualifying rounds for all teams that will be held outside the SSL Competition at the Art Headquarters and Training Center in Grandson, Lake Neuchâtel. Each of these teams will be divided into separate fleets, with up to five windward/ leeward races for each team. About 60 teams are expected to enter the first edition of the SSL Gold Cup. The order of the eleven sailors in each national team will be strictly controlled. A captain is selected for each team. He has the ability to sail/be on board, but this is not required. Ivan Grekov was officially selected as captain of the Bulgarian team with a special letter sent by Mateusz Kusznierewicz, Sports Director of the SSL Gold Cup: We bring to your attention, part of it:
“Hi, Ivan,
