The team of OVK Nessebar 2000 grabbed the trophy in the first round of the Sailing Champions League in Bulgaria.

BORA Sailing Championship Varna 2021 ended with an exceptional intensity of 18 races. Final races were also planned in the race, but they failed to take place due to a strong gust of about 40 knots.

The time did not fall until the last possible race and so the final ranking was formed with the results so far. The competition was held on June 12 and 13, and the format suggest teams from different clubs to compete on a rotating basis in four Laser SB20 boats of the same type. This format of the same type of boats provided by the organizer, in which the teams compete on relatively equal other terms against each other, suggests the results to be of their technical and strategic skills only. This offered spectators and athletes an extraordinary dynamic in which experienced athletes faced youngsters and had to prove their skills one against another. During the Bora Sailing Championship, the best sailing clubs competed for the title “Champion in sailing for boats of the same type in Bulgaria” and determined who to qualify for the ISLA qualifications for the Champions sailing league. And the big winners are the team of OVK Nessebar consisting of Yana Markova, Ina Ilieva and Alexander Amin. Yana is a multiple champion of Bulgaria in the Optimist, Laser 4.7 and Radial class, as well as a multiple champion of 470. In her career she also won 12th place at the World Championships in 2010. The crew completes Ina Ilieva – multiple champion of 470 and Balkan champion in a team with Yana Markova. Alexander Amin is the winner of the Bosphorus Cup on keel yachts, national champion IRC 1 and winner of second place in the ORC Regatta Palma De Mallorca. The second place is for LZ Yachting 1991 with skipper Lachezar Bratoev and team Julieta Ivanova and Maria Hristova, who led convincingly on the first day, but
they almost missed the first place. However, LZ Yachting 1991 had great reason to rejoice, as their second team North Sails also took the podium with Stefani Muzakova, Svetlin Karadzhov, Kaloyan Kataliev. Stephanie is the winner of more than 50 medals and 60 cups from national and international regattas. He has been the national champion of Bulgaria for ten consecutive years, 5 consecutive years Sailor of Bulgaria in the Olympic class Laser Radial. Organizer of the prestigious competition in Bulgaria is “BORA Sailing”, in partnership with “LZ Yachting 1991” and SC “Ultramarine”. By the end of the year, two more regattas from this series are expected to take place – in Pomorie in September and Iskar Dam in October.
